Our qualifications are recognised and respected worldwide by employers, governments and learners, helping to raise standards of competence in workplaces across the globe.
NEBOSH employs over 220 colleagues and generates approximately £25m of annual income. As we continue to evolve and strengthen our organisation, we are investing in additional capability within our People function to improve resilience, enhance service delivery and support future organisational needs.
Why apply?
This is a rare opportunity to join the HR leadership team of a successful, purpose-driven organisation during an important period of development.
Reporting directly to the Interim Chief People Officer, you'll work closely with senior leaders across the organisation, helping to strengthen core HR services, support managers through complex people challenges and improve how HR operates. This is a genuinely hands-on role where you'll combine operational delivery, team leadership and business partnering, making a visible impact from day one.
We're looking for someone who enjoys rolling up their sleeves, bringing structure and pace to a busy environment, developing others and solving problems pragmatically. You'll have the opportunity to contribute ideas, influence decisions and help shape the future development of the People function, while ensuring excellent day-to-day service for colleagues and managers.
We're particularly interested in candidates who embrace modern ways of working and can thoughtfully use technology, data and emerging AI tools to improve efficiency and decision-making whilst maintaining fairness, inclusion and sound professional judgement.
What you'll be doing
As our HR Business Partnering and Operations Manager, you'll provide additional senior HR capacity during a period of transition, supporting the delivery of an effective, customer-focused People service across the organisation.
You will play a key role in:
- Leading and strengthening day-to-day HR operations, ensuring priorities, risks and workloads are effectively managed.
- Coaching, supporting and developing members of the HR team, building capability, confidence and accountability.
- Partnering with managers and senior stakeholders on workforce challenges, people issues and organisational effectiveness.
- Leading and advising on complex employee relations matters and people risk.
- Protecting and improving core HR processes, including payroll, employee lifecycle activities and policy compliance.
- Using data, insight and continuous improvement to enhance HR service delivery and manager experience.
- Supporting delivery of the People roadmap and contributing practical insight to the future development of the People function.
- Driving operational improvements that create resilience, reduce risk and improve outcomes for colleagues and managers.
