An exciting opportunity to shape innovative work at a time of growth
Warning Zone is a well established safety education charity, working with over 270 schools and reaching more than 11,000 Year 6 pupils each year through our immersive Safety Centre programme.
Alongside this, we deliver a growing secondary school programme, including Road Crew and targeted workshops, reaching thousands of young people each year as they become more independent and face increasingly complex risks. We also work with parents, teachers and adults with additional needs, supporting them to recognise risks, build confidence and make informed decisions.
Through all of our programmes, we support people to understand risk, consider consequences and make safer choices in an increasingly complex world.
We are now entering an exciting period of growth, expanding into new and innovative areas of work. This role sits at the heart of that development, offering a unique opportunity to take ownership of a growing programme, shape its strategic direction and influence how Warning Zone responds to emerging risks affecting individuals and communities.
Why this work matters
Gambling related harm is a growing public health issue, particularly for young people, but its impact extends across families and communities. Increasing exposure through gaming, social media and digital environments means many people do not recognise the risks.
Features such as loot boxes, digital rewards and in game purchases replicate gambling mechanics and can normalise risk taking behaviours. These influences are linked to wider issues including financial harm, mental health challenges and vulnerability to exploitation.
At Warning Zone, we are uniquely placed to respond. By combining our large scale Year 6 programme with targeted secondary school delivery and wider engagement with parents, teachers and communities, we can support early awareness, build confidence and help prevent harm before it develops

You will lead our Gambling Harms Prevention Programme alongside overseeing all secondary school delivery, including our Road Crew programme.
This is a varied and hands on role where you will take ownership of this area of work, managing staff, designing and delivering programme content, building partnerships, and leading on evaluation and research.
