We are looking for a Peer Support Navigator - Housing to join our team. this is a unique opportunity for someone with lived experience of substance misuse and/or homelessness, who is in recovery and wants to use their experiences positively and appropriately to support others.
You don't need to have all the answers. What matters is your ability to listen without judgement, relate to people with empathy, build trusting relationships and encourage people to believe that change is possible.

The Purpose of the Role
Peer Support Navigators provide support to people thorough active listing and empathising around shared experiences and are motivated to help them through their difficult experiences and move forward in their lives.
The successful candidate will
· Support individuals who are struggling to maintain independent living, to build resilience, improve health outcomes and ensure stability of accommodation whilst promoting engagement and stability within treatment services.
· Provide outreach support within the community specifically for individuals engaged in drug and alcohol treatment who have housing needs
· Support enable and involve service users in all aspects of their housing needs
About you
We are particularly interested in hearing from people who have lived experience of substance misuse and/or homelessness and can reflect on their experiences and use them constructively to support others.
You will ideally:
- Be in a stable position in your own recovery and have an awareness of your recovery journey.
- Be able to use your lived experience positively, safely and appropriately.
- Be open, honest, approachable and non-judgemental.
- Have good communication and interpersonal skills – or, importantly, a willingness to develop them.
- Be a good listener who can demonstrate genuine empathy.
- Be able to establish appropriate professional boundaries.
- Be reliable, resilient and committed to supporting others.
- Be able to work effectively as part of a team.
- Have a genuine passion for helping people and improving outcomes within your local community
