Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated IT Support Technician to join our dynamic technology team. The successful candidate will provide essential technical assistance across various systems and platforms, ensuring seamless operation of IT infrastructure. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with a strong foundation in computer networking, hardware, and software troubleshooting to develop their careers within a supportive environment. The position involves delivering prompt and effective support to end-users, maintaining network security, and assisting with system maintenance tasks.

Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive desktop support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and connectivity issues efficiently.
Assist in the configuration, deployment, and maintenance of operating systems including Windows, macOS, and Linux.
Manage user accounts and permissions using Active Directory and facilitate access via VPNs.
Troubleshoot network connectivity problems related to LAN, TCP/IP, DNS, and firewall configurations.
Support server environments such as Microsoft Windows Server and utilise management tools like SCCM and BMC Remedy.
Monitor and maintain network security protocols, including firewall management and VPN configurations.
Assist with the setup and troubleshooting of computer hardware components.
Use ticketing systems such as ServiceNow and Jira to document issues and track resolutions.
Collaborate with team members to improve IT processes and support documentation.
Communicate technical information clearly to non-technical users to ensure understanding.

Experience

Proven experience in providing technical support within an IT support or help desk environment.
Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts including LAN, WAN, TCP/IP protocols, DNS, and DHCP.
Hands-on experience with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows Server), macOS, and Linux.
Familiarity with Active Directory management and user account provisioning.
Experience supporting software troubleshooting across various applications including Microsoft Office suite.
Knowledge of security measures such as firewalls, VPNs, and TCP protocols.
Experience working with enterprise tools like SCCM, ServiceNow, Jira, BMC Remedy is desirable.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly to users at all levels.
Analytical skills for diagnosing complex problems quickly and effectively.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for motivated individuals eager to expand their expertise in IT support while contributing to a proactive technology environment.

Pay: £24,420.00-£47,054.73 per year
