Full job description

Setnix Ltd is part of a US-headquartered aviation group and has been established in the UK for several years. Shortly moving to our modern offices in Pitstone, Buckinghamshire, Setnix works closely alongside our sister company, Setna iO, a leading aftermarket aircraft parts supplier serving the commercial, regional and business aviation sectors.

As part of a collaborative team, you'll support the finance function across a fast-paced aviation business committed to delivering exceptional customer service, maintaining the highest quality standards and building trusted relationships with customers and suppliers worldwide.

Recruiting for growth, we are seeking a Bookkeeper/Finance Assistant to join the team. This position will be suited to an individual who is keen to learn, grow their responsibilities and to perform an integral role within the business. This position offers exciting career opportunity, with an excellent bonus and overtime scheme given the current economic climate.

Key responsibilities include:

Record and maintain accurate financial transactions
Prepare and process invoices and payments
Maintain general ledger and assist with month-end and year-end closings
Support expense reimbursements
File and manage financial records in compliance with company and regulatory requirements
Communicate with vendors and customers to resolve billing and payment issues
Assist with annual audits
Assist in the preparation of the data required for VAT returns
Perform other related administrative and accounting duties as required
Ensuring bills are paid in a timely and accurate manner while adhering to departmental procedures
Responding to vendor enquiries within a timely manner
Validating that Purchase Orders and Sales Orders related to the UK entity are being processed correctly according to company procedure
Following up with customers on past due invoices
Establishing and maintaining relationships with new and existing customers and vendors.

Qualification and Skills:

Bachelor’s degree in accounting is preferred but not mandatory
2+ years proven experience as a bookkeeper or accounting clerk (experience in aviation or parts distribution a plus)
High attention to detail
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Communication skills, both internally and externally
Computer skills (Excel, Word, Outlook)
Willingness to show up on time and work efficiently without being micro-managed.
