Side loader Driver – Timber Yard

Location: Humbie EH36 5PA
Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

About the Role

We are currently looking for an experienced and safety-conscious Side loader Driver to join our busy timber yard team in Humbie. This is a hands-on role involving the movement and handling of timber products, supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the yard and ensuring customer orders are fulfilled safely and efficiently.

What You’ll Be Doing

Operating a sideloader forklift to move and store timber and wood products
Loading and unloading delivery vehicles safely and efficiently
Picking and preparing customer orders accurately
Handling long, heavy, and awkward loads with care
Carrying out daily equipment checks and reporting any faults
Maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment
Supporting stock control and general yard operations

What We’re Looking For

Valid sideloader forklift licence (preferred)
Previous experience in a timber yard, builders’ merchant, or similar environment (preferred)
Confident handling of long or bulky materials
Strong awareness of health & safety procedures
Reliable, hardworking, and a good team player
Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions

Working Hours

Rotating shifts:
Day Shift: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Back Shift: 2:30pm – 11:30pm
Overtime may be available during busy periods
