The Role
We are looking for an experienced accounts / bookkeeper to join our residential lettings team based in our Letchworth and Biggleswade offices. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a growing customer-focused team managing the day to day accounts, processing rental payments from tenants and landlords along with calculating and paying contractors and dealing with rent demands, issuing service charge and ground rent demands and rent arrears. You’ll play a key role in ensuring the smooth running of the accounts for our residential lettings portfolio along with our estate management department , building client relationships, and delivering excellent service.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with clients and applicants professionally
- Processing rent payments
- Processing Landlord payments
- Processing contractors payments
- Issuing service charge demands
- Issuing rent demands
- Dealing with rent arrears
- Reconciling bank accounts
- Promote the full range of Satchells services
- Carry out general office administration
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in accounts or bookkeeping
- A good understanding of VAT, Tax, and the financial industry
- Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
- Effective communicator with good listening skills
- Organised, detail-focused, and proactive
- Comfortable working as part of a team
- IT-literate with strong administrative ability
- Understanding of compliance requirements

Working Hours
Monday to Friday: 9am – 3pm (1/2 hour lunch unpaid) 1 in 3 Saturdays: 9am – 5pm (1 hour lunch unpaid)
Pay: £13.50 per hour
