Plumpton College is a leading provider of land and environmental education in the UK, situated in the heart of the South Downs National Park. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced land-based professional who is ready to take the next step into teaching the future workforce in agriculture and environmental studies. Working closely with the Director of Agriculture & Environment, you will help drive high-quality provision through effective support and development, ensuring excellent outcomes for learners.
The successful candidate will teach across Agriculture and Environment Level 2 and Level 3 programmes, bringing specialist knowledge in either fisheries management, aquaculture, aquatic science, aquatic ecology, fish health and welfare, or estate management skills and farm habitat management.
There is the option to take on the additional responsibility of Cohort Lead for one year, which attracts an additional payment of £1,500 (payable across twelve equal instalments pro rata). You will

Teach and manage high-quality land-based programmes that meet awarding body requirements and industry needs
- Deliver and model consistently high-quality teaching, learning and assessment
- Support student recruitment, progression, retention and destinations
- Work collaboratively with employers, stakeholders and internal teams to strengthen provision and learner opportunities
- Ensure safeguarding, equality, diversity, health and safety, and student welfare are embedded in all practice
You will bring:

A degree or professional qualification in land-based subjects
- Extensive land-based industry experience and strong specialist subject knowledge
- Specialist expertise in either fisheries management, aquaculture, aquatic science, aquatic ecology, fish health and welfare, or estate management skills and farm habitat management
- Excellent practice with a track record of good or outstanding teaching, learning and assessment
- The ability to support, motivate and develop learners
- Strong organisational skills, adaptability and confidence using data and digital systems
- A passion for student success, inclusion and safeguarding
