Lohmann GB Ltd are seeking a Farm Assistant to work at a Laying Farm in Milland, Sussex.
The role would be Monday to Friday 5 hours a day, and alternate weekends 6 hours a day.
Duties to include:
1. Support day to day management of the poultry breeding site.
2. Set up and stripping down of poultry houses.
3. Grading and collection of hatching eggs and support egg room hygiene.
4. Body weighing of poultry as directed by Farm Manager
5. Flock Health monitoring, vaccinations, blood sampling, salmonella testing, hygiene swabbing
6. Assist at depletions
7. Accurate record keeping, prompt returns to office and customers.
8. Responsible for alarm cover as required
9. Supporting ventilation management
10. Understanding stock of feed and consumable products
11. Water management to support bird welfare and litter management
12. Being aware of Bird Welfare and Health & Safety guidelines.
13. Promote company policy & procedures and have good relations with colleagues and neighbours to the site.
Summary
A flexible approach will be required, tasks will vary from day to day and there maybe some need carrying out early mornings or late at night.
Previous poultry experience would be an advantage or livestock experience. Must hold a full driving licence and be over 18 years old. Hours are 25 hours per week, plus alternate weekends at 6 hours per day.
