About Us
CJP Chartered Accountants is a growing and forward-thinking accountancy firm based in Saintfield. We offer a wide range of professional services, including accounts preparation, tax, payroll, and VAT. Following continued client growth and recent expansion, we are looking for a dedicated Accounting Technician, Part-Qualified or Trainee Accountant to join our team on a full-time basis.
The Role
This is a practical and client-facing role supporting the delivery of high-quality services across a diverse portfolio of clients, including sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies. You will work closely with senior team members and have the opportunity to develop your skills further as your experience grows.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparation of year-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships, and limited companies
- Preparation of management accounts and VAT returns
- Data analysis, reconciliations and other general accounting tasks
- Supporting clients with cloud accounting software (Xero, Sage etc)
- Processing weekly and monthly payrolls for a range of clients
- Assisting with tax return preparation and other compliance tasks
- Communicating directly with clients and addressing queries in a professional manner
Candidate Requirements
- Accounting Technician or Part-Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CAI or similar)
- For trainee applicants - University degree with a minimum 2:1 classification
- Previous experience of working in an accountancy practice is desirable but not essential
- Forward-thinking mindset and a willingness to learn and adapt
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and general IT systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage time and priorities effectively
- Good communication skills and a client-focused approach
- Full driving licence preferred
