Full job description

We require an Optical Receptionist to join our Banbridge team. On a fortnightly basis, this involves a 4 day week and a 5 day week (No Saturdays), 9am to 5pm, in our practice (closed for lunch between 1pm to 2pm).

About us:

We aim to provide a friendly, efficient service to our patients, using the latest technology in the consulting room, and offering a great range of fashion frames, spectacle lenses and contact lenses.

Requirements:

Good attention to detail, numeracy and computer skills required.
Minimum 5 GCSE/ O level’s, including Maths and English to grade C or above.
Experience in Optical industry desirable.
Able to work as part of a team and be able to provide good customer service.
Availability for holiday cover.
Enthusiastic and willing to learn.
Good communication and problem-solving skills.
Fluent English.

Duties will include:

Answering phone calls, arranging appointments and dealing with queries.
Welcoming patients to the Practice.
Assisting in the choosing of frames (dispensing and styling) and ordering prescription glasses.
Administration of NHS forms for sight tests and vouchers.
Collection of glasses and making adjustments and repairs to the frames as required.
Dealing with post and managing patient records.
Ordering contact lenses.
Taking payment, cashing up and banking duties.
Buying of frames.
Ordering of optical supplies.
Practical housekeeping duties.
Key Holder.
