Role Purpose
The IT Technician will provide professional technical support across the business, ensuring reliable and secure operation of EEI's IT systems. The successful candidate will assist with day-to-day IT operations, device management, Microsoft 365 administration, networking support and cyber security activities. EEI core systems include M365 and Azure.
This role is ideal for someone looking to develop their technical skills within a dynamic technology-led organisation while gaining exposure to modern cloud, networking and security technologies.
Key Responsibilities
IT Support
- Provide 1st and 2nd line technical support to employees and escalate complex issues when required.
- Troubleshoot hardware, software and networking issues.
- Support End User and Office Devices.
- Diagnose and resolve Microsoft 365 user issues.
Microsoft 365 Administration
- Support administration of:
- User accounts and permissions
- Exchange Online
- SharePoint Online
- OneDrive
- Microsoft Teams
- Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD)
- Onboarding and offboarding activities
Device Management
- Configure, deploy and support Windows devices.
- Manage endpoints using Microsoft Intune, maintaining security standards.
- Manage software deployment and keep systems up to date.
- Maintain IT asset registers and equipment inventories.
Network Support
- Support LAN, WAN and wireless network infrastructure.
- Support network infrastructure.
- Assist and maintain documentation of network infrastructure.
Cyber Security
- Monitor security alerts and events.
- Support Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus compliance activities.
- Assist with vulnerability management and remediation.
- Manage Entra and Intune security policies.
- Promote good cyber and security awareness.
Documentation and Continuous Improvement
- Produce and maintain clear documentation for systems and processes.
- Assist with IT projects and technology improvement initiatives.
- Support the continuous improvement of IT systems across the business.
Essential Experience
- Experience providing IT support within a business environment.
- Experience of using Microsoft 365/Azure.
- Experience with Windows OS.
- Experience working with networking environments.
- Understanding of cyber security processes.
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and customer service skills.
Certifications (one or more desirable)
- CompTIA A+
- CompTIA Network+
- CompTIA Security+
- Microsoft Certification
- Cisco CCNA
- IT Fundamentals (Level 1-3)
Desirable Experience
- Microsoft Intune / Endpoint Manager.
- Microsoft Defender.
- Cyber Essentials and ISO27001 environments.
- Firewalls and network security technologies.
- Backup and disaster recovery solutions.
- PowerShell scripting.
- SharePoint administration.

Due to the nature of elements of the role, the successful applicant must be a UK National and may be required to successfully complete National Security Vetting which may require criminal record, security service and credit reference checks; qualification will also normally require a minimum UK residency of at least 5 years.

Pay: £30,500.00-£34,200.00 per year
