£30k per annum Full Time.
This role is 22.5 hours a week (3 days), salary will be pro rata at £18k.
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly motivated and organised Mental Health Trainer to join our fantastic team at Unmasked Mental Health,a registered Charity based in Halifax.
The Trainer will take responsibility for the day-to-day delivery and development of Unmasked Mental Health's training provision. As the organisation's lead trainer, the post holder will deliver high-quality mental health training, develop and maintain engaging training programmes, and support the continued growth of the organisation's training services.
Working closely with the wider team, the Training Lead will coordinate the training function, ensuring courses are delivered professionally, training materials remain current and evidence-based, and clients receive an exceptional experience from enquiry through to delivery.
This is a hands-on role, with the majority of time spent preparing and delivering training to business, community groups, partner agencies and to members of the community.
The Trainer will also play an important role in supporting the continued growth of the organisation's training income by developing strong client relationships and delivering training that is consistently recognised for its quality and impact.
This is an onsite role based in Halifax with frequent travel to client sites primarily across Yorkshire & Lancashire but there may be an odd occassion for further travel.
Duties
- Support the delivery of Unmasked Mental Health's training programmes.
- Design and deliver engaging, professional and interactive mental health and wellbeing training to organisations, schools, community groups and partner agencies.
- Develop, review and continually improve the organisation's portfolio of training courses and supporting materials.
- Ensure all training content remains accurate, evidence-based and reflects current legislation and best practice.
- Prepare presentations, delegate workbooks, resources and course materials.
- Coordinate the organisation's training calendar alongside the Operations Team.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with clients, commissioners and partner organisations.
- Work with the wider team to identify opportunities to expand the organisation's training provision.
- Gather and evaluate participant feedback and use this to continually improve training quality.
- Maintain accurate training records and ensure certification is issued where appropriate.
- Support and mentor Associate Trainers and Facilitators where required.
- Deliver accredited training programmes, including Nuco First Aid courses where appropriately qualified.
- Represent Unmasked Mental Health professionally at networking events, conferences and promotional activities.
- Contribute to funding reports by providing training statistics, feedback and impact information where required.
- Promote the organisation's values and mission in every aspect of training delivery.
Essential Skills
- Significant experience delivering mental health and wellbeing training within workplace, education, healthcare or community settings.
- Experience designing, developing and evaluating training programmes.
- A recognised training qualification (such as the Level 3 Award in Education and Training) or substantial experience delivering professional training.
- Excellent facilitation and presentation skills.
- Ability to adapt training to suit a range of audiences.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a varied workload.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office 365.
- Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel.
Desirable Skills
- Qualified Nuco First Aid Instructor. (highly desirable)
- Accredited Mental Health First Aid (MHFA England) Instructor or equivalent.
- A recognised qualification in mental health, counselling, psychotherapy, psychology, social work, nursing or another relevant discipline.
- Experience supporting or mentoring trainers or facilitators.
- Experience working within the charity, healthcare or voluntary sector.
- Knowledge of safeguarding legislation and best practice.
- Experience evaluating training outcomes and producing impact reports.
- Understanding of trauma-informed practice.
- Experience building relationships with clients and supporting business development.
