Job Description:
Red Rose Travel is recruiting an experienced Vehicle/Bus Mechanic to join our growing workshop team. We are an equal opportunities employer committed to maintaining a safe, reliable fleet and delivering excellent service across our operating areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair and maintain buses and light commercial vehicles.
- Perform routine servicing, MOT preparation work, brakes, suspension, engine and transmission repairs.
- Carry out electrical fault-finding and basic diagnostics.
- Complete vehicle safety checks and ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
- Keep accurate maintenance records and parts usage logs.
- Work with workshop team to prioritise jobs and maintain turnaround times.
- Maintain a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
Requirements:
- Relevant mechanical experience with buses, coaches or large commercial vehicles required.
- Relevant NVQ or City & Guilds qualification in vehicle maintenance or equivalent.
- Significant hands-on experience working on buses, coaches or large commercial vehicles preferred.
- Good diagnostic and mechanical skills; diesel engine experience essential.
- Valid driving licence; PCV licence desirable but not required.
- Strong attention to detail, reliable and punctual.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
