CNC Machinists – 2 Vacancies
Location: Commutable from Leicester (Leicestershire)
Sector: Subcontract Precision Engineering
A well-established subcontract machine shop with a strong order book is expanding and looking to recruit experienced CNC Machinists across turning and milling. Multiple opportunities are available for skilled engineers who enjoy varied, high-precision work.
Roles Available:CNC Turner – Programmer / Setter / Operator
Controls: Fanuc
Machines: CNC Lathes
Key Responsibilities:
- Programming, setting, and operating CNC turning machines using Fanuc controls
- Producing complex, high-precision components in small batch and one-off quantities
- Reading and interpreting detailed engineering drawings
- Selecting tooling, setting offsets, and proving out programs
- Carrying out first-off and in-process inspection using precision measuring equipment
- Maintaining quality and meeting delivery deadlines in a subcontract environment
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a CNC Turner in a subcontract or precision engineering environment
- Strong Fanuc programming and setting capability
- Confident working to tight tolerances
- Ability to work independently from drawing to finished component
CNC Miller – Setter / Operator / Programmer
Controls: Hurco (WinMax) or Fanuc
Machines: CNC Vertical Machining Centres
Key Responsibilities:
- Setting and operating CNC milling machines using Hurco or Fanuc controls
- Editing programs at the machine; programming experience highly desirable
- Producing complex components in low-volume, high-mix production
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
- Tooling selection, datum setting, and part inspection
- Working to high quality standards in a fast-paced subcontract environment
Requirements:
- Experience as a CNC Miller within a precision engineering environment
- Good working knowledge of Hurco and/or Fanuc controls
- Strong understanding of machining practices and tolerances
- Programming experience advantageous
Desirable (Both Roles):
- CAD/CAM experience (any system considered)
- Background in subcontract machining
- Experience machining a variety of materials
