The role:

As a Patrol and Response Officer, you are often the very first point of contact for the public enjoying our parks and green spaces. You will respond to emergency incidents and routine inquiries, assessing safety risks and environmental concerns to ensure every situation gets the right response.

The role can be intense, and field conditions can change in seconds, but that is what makes it so meaningful. Work as part of a great team. No shift is ever the same, and your quick actions can directly protect a visitor in distress or preserve our natural environment.

The role involves working shifts, a combination of days, afternoons and nights including weekends and public holidays.

Applicants should have a wide experience of engaging professionally with members of the public, dealing with confrontation and have relevant experience in an enforcement role.

Key responsibilities

Patrol & Enforcement: Tackle crime and antisocial behaviour in Liverpool’s parks and open spaces. Enforcing relevant legislation
Incident Response: Serve as the first responder for safety and security incidents. Manage scenes, provide emergency assistance and first aid, and coordinate council teams
Alarm & Security Management: Respond quickly to alarm activations to protect staff, premises, and assets while backing up on-site security and lone workers
Partnerships: Act as a professional ambassador for Liverpool City Council, build community trust and work closely with blue light partners on initiatives like the Safer Parks programme

Please note: £31,022 is the starting salary. This grows with annual grade progression. This role currently attracts an additional shift and weekend allowance.
