Full job description

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive Semi Senior Accountant to join our growing practice. We have a friendly team culture and are a forward thinking practice based around customer service, technology and offering clients help to run their businesses better.

We are looking for someone who already has experience of working in this environment and loves to help and work with clients.

This will suit somebody who enjoys speaking with clients and is passionate about providing great client service and working within a modern accounting environment.

Responsibilities

Managing portfolio of small business clients
Liaising with a high number of clients on a regular basis
Preparing end-to-end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and private limited companies, including tax computations
Bookkeeping including bank reconciliations, purchase and sales invoicing, prepayments and accruals, fixed asset register etc for a number of clients
Preparing VAT returns and management accounts
Preparing Corporate and Personal tax returns
Filling and sending on-line forms to Companies House and to HMRC
Dealing with official bodies
Payroll knowledge
Solving client problems and advising clients
Providing awesome client service
Supporting and reviewing work of junior staff
Ad hoc work as required as part of a small team

Requirements

Part qualified ACCA/ACA or AAT qualified or qualified by experience
A minimum of 3 years’ experience in an accountancy practice at this level
Knowledge of software used in practice and the processes required for accounting, tax, payroll, VAT, bookkeeping
Ability to solve problems, take responsibility and start adding value to the team immediately
Excellent communication skills over email, telephone and face to face
Able to work independently
Good technical knowledge and ability and experience to handle/research tax and accounting issues
Passionate about client service
