Accounts Clerk / Office Manager – Self-Employed (Full-Time)

Location: Liverpool
Job Type: Self-Employed / Contract
Hours: Full-time, Monday to Friday (flexible hours available)
Rate: Competitive rate, depending on experience

We are seeking an experienced and highly organised Self-Employed Accounts Clerk / Office Manager to provide accounting and office management support to our business in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for a self-motivated professional who can work independently while ensuring the efficient day-to-day running of the office and financial administration.

Key ResponsibilitiesAccounts Duties

Processing purchase and sales invoices
Managing accounts payable and receivable
Reconciling bank statements and supplier accounts
Preparing VAT returns and assisting with month-end procedures
Maintaining accurate financial records using accounting software
Assisting with payroll administration when required

Office Management Duties

Overseeing daily office operations and administrative functions
Managing office supplies and liaising with suppliers
Handling incoming calls, emails and correspondence
Maintaining filing systems and company records
Assisting with HR administration, including staff records and holiday tracking
Coordinating meetings and providing administrative support to management

Requirements

Previous experience as an Accounts Clerk, Bookkeeper, Office Manager, or in a similar role
Good working knowledge of Sage, Xero, QuickBooks, or other accounting software
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Ability to manage workload independently and meet deadlines
AAT qualification or equivalent is desirable but not essential
Must be registered as self-employed and responsible for their own tax and National Insurance obligations
