Full job description

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Housekeeper / Hotel receptionist to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining cleanliness and order in our facilities, ensuring a welcoming environment for guests and residents. This position requires a strong commitment to customer service and the ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Greet guests upon arrival with a warm and welcoming attitude.
Manage check-in and check-out processes efficiently.
Handle guest inquiries and provide information about hotel services, local attractions, and amenities.
Maintain accurate records of guest bookings and reservations.
Process payments and manage billing inquiries.
Address guest complaints or issues promptly and professionally.
Collaborate with housekeeping and maintenance teams to ensure guest satisfaction.
Assist with administrative tasks as required, including answering phone calls and managing correspondence.
Promote hotel services and facilities to enhance the guest experience.
Perform general cleaning duties, including dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and sanitising surfaces.
Ensure all areas are kept clean, tidy, and well-organised at all times.
Handle laundry duties as required, including washing, drying, folding, and ironing linens.
Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to management promptly.
Assist with kitchen duties as needed, including cooking simple meals or preparing snacks for guests.
Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and report when stock is low.
Provide exceptional customer service by responding to guest requests promptly and courteously.
Adhere to health and safety regulations while performing cleaning tasks.

Experience

Previous experience in commercial cleaning or housekeeping within a hotel or similar environment is preferred but not essential.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with guests and colleagues.
Basic cooking skills are advantageous for assisting in kitchen duties.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to work efficiently without supervision.
Good organisational skills and the capacity to manage time effectively to meet cleaning schedules.

Previous experience in a hotel or hospitality environment is preferred but not essential.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with an emphasis on phone etiquette.

Knowledge of hotel management systems is a plus but not mandatory.
A positive attitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team are essential traits for success in this role.
