Full job description

As an Associate Practitioner you will be required to perform ECG’s, respiratory testing and ambulatory monitoring in line with departmental policies.

Duties will include a range of basic cardiac and respiratory investigations and it is essential to have completed or be willing to work towards a foundation degree in Healthcare Science.

Only applicants with a proven history of working as an assistant technical officer in a busy inner city hospital will be considered for this post.

The post is 3 days per week.

The Cardio-Resp unit offers a wide range of diagnostic procedures including;

Full range of non invasive cardiac diagnostics, ECG and ambulatory.

Echocardiography including TOE, Stress Echo and 3D.

Physiologist led Tilt Table service.

Physiologist led exercise service.

Pacing implants and follow up.

Spirometry

Full respiratory testing

CPET

FENO and 6 minute walking tests.

To record ECG’s on the wards, in the department, in outpatients, accident and emergency and in the community.
To be proficient in ECG interpretation.
To assist physiologists in Transoesophageal Echocardiography
To assist with Physiologist led Tilt Table service.
To assist with Physiologist led exercise service.
Perform spirometry/ respiratory testing including the administration of Salbutamol.
