Full job description

Credu Supporting Young and Adult Carers Ltd is looking for a reliable, practical and enthusiastic sessional worker to provide on-the-ground support at our Young Carers clubs based in Llandrindod Wells. This role works alongside our Outreach Worker to help sessions run smoothly and safely, with a particular focus on set-up/close-down, transport support, and preparing materials.

Key details

Contract: Sessional – paid monthly in arrears
Start date: September (subject to confirmation of club dates/venue)
Hours: 5 hours per month - with additional hours available for trips, activities and events (e.g., festivals)
Location: Llandrindod Wells - with occasional sessions/activities elsewhere

What you’ll do

Support the Outreach Worker to deliver safe, welcoming club sessions for young people.
Help with set-up and close-down of the venue, resources and activities.
Remain on site until all young people have been collected and the session is fully closed.
Provide practical support such as collecting supplies (e.g., shopping for sessions) and preparing materials.
Act as an additional driver when required (e.g., to support trips/activities), in line with organisational procedures.
Occasionally support additional activities such as trips, events and festivals.

What we’re looking for

Essential

Practical, hands-on approach and willingness to support with set-up, tidy-up and logistics.
Confidence working with children/young people in a supportive, inclusive way.
Commitment to attend collaborative communication training provided by the company
Reliability and ability to commit to session times,
Full driving licence and access to a vehicle
Good communication and ability to work as part of a small team.

Desirable

Experience supporting youth groups, play work, community activities or similar.
Knowledge of (or interest in learning about) young carers and the challenges they can face.
First aid qualification (or willingness to undertake training).

Pay

£13.45 per hour

Safeguarding

This role involves working with children and young people. Appointment will be subject to satisfactory references and the appropriate DBS check, in line with our safeguarding and safer recruitment procedures. This role will require an Enhanced Check.
