Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and customer-focused Counter Assistant to join our pharmacy team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in providing exceptional service to patients and ensuring the smooth operation of the counter. This position offers an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare, with potential for professional development within a supportive environment. Prior pharmacy technician experience, medication administration knowledge, and patient care skills are highly desirable.

Duties

Greet and assist customers with their pharmacy needs in a courteous and professional manner
Dispense medications accurately under supervision, ensuring correct dosages and labels
Manage prescription orders, including data entry and verification of patient details
Provide information on over-the-counter products and health-related queries
Support medication administration processes as required, adhering to safety protocols
Maintain organised records of prescriptions and patient interactions
Ensure the counter area is clean, tidy, and compliant with health and safety standards
Collaborate with pharmacists and healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient care

Skills

Previous pharmacy experience is preferred
Knowledge of medication administration procedures and safety standards
Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to provide compassionate patient care and handle sensitive information discreetly
Capable of working efficiently in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining accuracy
Good organisational skills to manage multiple tasks effectively
