Brief Description

If you're reliable, hardworking, and thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment, we'd love to hear from you. We're looking for someone who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team, has a positive attitude, and is happy to get stuck in wherever needed.

Applicants must be 18+, as the role will involve periods of lone working.

The role is approximately 25 hours per week, primarily Monday to Friday, with occasional Saturday availability required to cover holidays and busy periods.

Pay is above the National Minimum Wage, depending on experience.

Hospitality, bakery or deli experience is a bonus, but a great work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn are even more important.

Job Overview

Duties

Prepare and assemble a variety of fresh deli and bakery items, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met
Assist customers with selections, answer questions about products, and promote specials or upselling opportunities
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the deli and bakery areas, including sanitizing surfaces and equipment regularly
Follow food safety protocols diligently to ensure compliance with health regulations
Manage time effectively during busy periods to keep the section well-stocked and inviting for customers
Support the team in creating appealing displays that enhance product visibility and sales potential

Experience

Previous experience in food preparation or working in a restaurant or retail food environment is preferred
Knowledge of food safety standards and proper handling techniques is highly desirable
Basic math skills for measuring ingredients, managing inventory, and processing transactions accurately
Experience in serving customers with professionalism and enthusiasm
Kitchen or culinary experience that demonstrates comfort working with food products
Strong time management skills to prioritize tasks efficiently during peak hours
Ability to upsell products naturally while providing excellent customer service
