Full job description

Job Summary

We are seeking a friendly and efficient Barista to join our team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and creating a welcoming environment for all patrons. This role involves preparing and serving a variety of beverages, maintaining high standards of food safety, and ensuring the smooth operation of the coffee shop. Previous experience in a similar role is advantageous but not essential, as training will be provided. The position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food preparation, serving, and time management within a dynamic setting.

Duties

Prepare and serve a range of hot and cold beverages, including coffee, tea, and specialised drinks, ensuring quality standards are met.
Handle customer orders efficiently with a friendly attitude, providing exceptional service at all times.
Maintain cleanliness and organisation of workstations in accordance with food safety regulations.
Assist with food preparation tasks such as assembling snacks or light meals when required.
Manage cash register operations accurately, including handling payments and giving correct change.
Restock supplies as needed to ensure the smooth running of the shop during shifts.
Uphold health and safety standards by following proper hygiene procedures and food safety protocols.
Contribute to creating a welcoming atmosphere that encourages repeat visits from customers.

Qualifications

Previous experience as a Barista or in a customer-facing role within the food service industry is preferred but not mandatory.
Knowledge of food safety standards and practices is desirable.
Basic maths skills for handling transactions accurately.
Strong time management skills to handle busy periods efficiently while maintaining quality service.
Ability to work well under pressure whilst remaining friendly and professional.
Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with customers and team members.
A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills related to serving and food preparation.

Pay: £7.50-£13.50 per hour
