The Role
As a Casual Governance Professional, you'll provide professional clerking and governance support to schools and academy trusts across our client base.
The role is primarily term-time focused, with most meetings taking place during evenings, making it an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking work that can fit around:
- Full-time or part-time employment
- Family and caring responsibilities

You'll have the flexibility to accept work that suits your availability whilst benefiting from the support of an experienced and welcoming central team.
What You'll Be Doing
- Providing professional clerking and governance support to governing boards and committees
- Preparing agendas and meeting documentation
- Attending meetings and producing high-quality minutes
- Advising boards on governance procedures and regulatory requirements
- Maintaining governance records and action logs
- Building positive relationships with school leaders, governors and trustees
- Supporting boards to operate effectively and efficiently
- Helping stakeholders navigate challenges and identify practical solutions
- Supporting constructive discussions and positive outcomes where differing views arise
What We're Looking For
We're keen to hear from individuals who:
- Have governance, clerking, company secretarial or board support experience
- Are personable, approachable and professional
- Build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders
- Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Have strong organisational and administrative skills
- Are confident engaging with senior leaders, governors and trustees
- Demonstrate tact, diplomacy and discretion
- Can professionally manage challenging conversations and differing viewpoints
- Have strong conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills
- Take a proactive, solution-focused approach to problem-solving
- Remain calm, objective and professional under pressure
- Have good IT skills and can work independently
Previous governance or education sector experience is desirable, but we would also welcome applications from candidates with relevant transferable skills and experience.
