Owen Fabrications Ltd was established in 1990 and is a leading structural steel fabrication and installation company based in Greenford, West London. We deliver a wide range of structural steel projects across the commercial, residential, industrial and infrastructure sectors throughout the UK.
We are looking for an organised and proactive Project Coordinator to support the successful delivery of our structural steel projects from award through to completion.
Project Coordinator Role
The successful candidate will work closely with our managing director, estimator, workshop, site team, clients and subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on time and to the required quality standards.
The role would suit someone with previous experience in the structural steel industry who understands fabrication and site installation processes and is comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the estimating team and directors with the coordination of structural steel projects.
- Liaise with clients, site teams, subcontractors, suppliers and internal departments.
- Monitor project progress and help ensure programmes and deadlines are achieved.
- Coordinate material deliveries, site activities and installation schedules.
- Prepare and maintain project documentation, drawing registers and trackers.
- Manage RFIs, technical queries and document submissions.
- Attend site visits and meetings where required.
- Assist with health and safety, quality and compliance documentation.
- Support the workshop and site teams with project-related information and updates.
- Monitor variations, delays and project risks and escalate issues where necessary.
- Ensure project records are maintained accurately throughout the project lifecycle.
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience within the structural steel industry is essential.
- Experience working on construction sites and understanding of steel erection processes.
- Experience coordinating construction or structural steel projects.
- Good understanding of fabrication, installation and construction sequencing.
- Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications.
- Strong organisational and administrative skills.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships with clients and site teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Excel and Outlook.
- Knowledge of Tekla, Advance Steel, CAD or other construction software would be advantageous.
- CSCS card is required
- SSSTS/SMSTS would be beneficial but not essential.
