Join the team behind some of the world's biggest productions.
For more than 20 years, Universal Extras has supplied supporting artistes to the UK's film and television industry. Based at Pinewood Studios, we're trusted by studios, broadcasters and production companies to find the right people for every brief.
We work across film, television, streaming, commercials and premium digital content, partnering with many of the industry's biggest names, including Marvel Studios, Disney, Lucasfilm, Netflix, Amazon MGM Studios, Apple TV+, NBCUniversal and the BBC.
As demand continues to grow, we're looking for a Casting Agent to join our team.
The Role:
As a Casting Agent, you'll be the main point of contact for a portfolio of productions, managing each brief from the initial enquiry through to filming.
You'll work closely with production teams to understand exactly what they need, coordinate and support Casting Coordinators, and make sure every brief is delivered to the high standards our clients expect. As the team grows, you'll also help train and develop new Casting Coordinators, sharing your knowledge and supporting their development.
Some briefs require a handful of supporting artistes. Others involve casting hundreds of people for large-scale scenes. Whatever the size, your focus is the same: understand the brief, deliver the right people and build strong relationships with every client.
You'll be trusted to make decisions, solve problems and keep productions running smoothly, with the support of an experienced team around you.
What You'll Be Doing:
● Managing productions from the initial brief through to filming.
● Building trusted relationships with Assistant Directors, production teams and clients to encourage repeat business and future opportunities.
● Coordinating, supporting and helping develop Casting Coordinators, including training new team members as the business grows.
● Interpreting casting briefs and selecting the right supporting artistes for each production.
● Reviewing artiste profiles and look portfolios to meet production requirements.
● Managing multiple live briefs while balancing changing priorities and deadlines.
● Keeping clients informed throughout the casting process and ensuring every brief is delivered to a high standard.
● Solving last-minute requests and finding practical solutions.
● Delivering an exceptional service that strengthens long-term client relationships.
● Working closely with senior management to grow existing client relationships and identify new production opportunities.
● Contributing towards team objectives and monthly targets.
About You:
Previous casting experience is desirable. However, we'll also consider candidates with relevant experience in other client-facing roles where organisation, communication and problem-solving are central to what you do.
We're looking for someone who:
● Builds strong, lasting relationships with clients, Assistant Directors and colleagues.
● Has exceptional attention to detail and takes pride in getting the small things right.
● Communicates confidently and professionally with people at all levels.
● Thrives under pressure and consistently delivers to deadlines.
● Can manage multiple priorities without compromising quality.
● Adapts quickly as briefs, schedules and client requirements change.
● Takes ownership, makes sound decisions and follows things through.
● Is highly organised with excellent planning and time management skills.
● Enjoys solving problems and finding practical solutions.
● Works collaboratively and contributes positively to the wider team.
● Has a genuine interest in film, television and the entertainment industry.
