About the Role:
Building Materials Wholesale is looking for an enthusiastic and commercially minded Sales
Representative to join our Brick Wholesale team.
This isn't a customer service or order processing role. Our website takes orders. Your role is
to provide the expertise, product knowledge, and commercial judgement that customers
can't get online.
You'll help customers find the right products, match bricks, prepare competitive quotations,
follow up enquiries, and convert opportunities into profitable sales. You'll take ownership of
enquiries from first contact through to order, ensuring every opportunity is followed up and
progressed.
The role is primarily inbound during the busy construction season, but outbound sales is a
core part of the position. During quieter periods, you'll proactively contact existing, lapsed,
and prospective customers to generate new business.

Key Responsibilities:
● Respond to customer enquiries by telephone and email.
● Advise customers on brick products, availability, lead times, and delivery options.
● Match bricks and recommend suitable alternatives where required.
● Prepare accurate, competitive quotations.
● Follow up on every quotation until it converts into an order or is closed.
● Select the most suitable supplier for each enquiry while protecting the company's margin.
● Manage quote and sample enquiry boards using Monday.com.
● Carry out proactive outbound sales activity during quieter trading periods.
● Build strong relationships with customers and suppliers.
● Use Aircall, HubSpot, and Monday.com to manage enquiries efficiently.
As a minimum, you'll be expected to:
● Send at least 30 customer emails each day.
● Hold at least 30 customer conversations by telephone each day.
● Spend at least one hour speaking with customers on calls each day.
We're looking for someone who:
● Enjoys sales and takes pride in winning new business.
● Is confident speaking with customers over the phone.
● Is comfortable making outbound sales calls.
● Has excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
● Understands the importance of profitable sales, not simply discounting to secure an order.
● Can manage multiple enquiries and prioritise their workload effectively.
● Is proactive, organised and self-motivated.
● Wants to develop excellent product knowledge and become a trusted adviser to customers.
● Has a keen eye for detail and takes ownership of their work.
This role is unlikely to suit you if you:
● Prefer purely inbound customer service and don't enjoy outbound sales.
● Are looking for remote or hybrid working.
● Want a role focused on processing orders rather than selling.
● Aren't interested in learning technical products.
● Prefer waiting for enquiries instead of actively generating business.
