A vibrant, independent gallery in Marylebone is looking for a gallery associate for 3 days a week.
The role is varied being within a small company, but includes the hanging and cataloging of artworks, email correspondence, website updating, preparing newsletters, organising art fair shipments and helping prepare in house exhibitions, besides meeting clients and discussing artworks leading to sales.
The successful candidate will possess at least the following:
Be a hands on, bright and outgoing person
IT packages including Photoshop and InDesign on Mac suite is a necessity and will be verified before the role is confirmed
Excellent writing skills including a professional and friendly email correspondence manner, we don’t use AI for these tasks
Able to work flexible hours and alone on a Saturday and during the week occasionally.
Background and general knowledge of art and the art world.
Summary
As an Art Gallery Associate, you will be integral to the daily operations of the gallery, reporting directly to the Gallery Manager. Your primary responsibilities will include assisting with exhibitions, managing artwork, and engaging with clients to promote sales. Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Adobe InDesign will be essential for creating promotional materials and visual content. Additionally, your skills in digital design and marketing will support the gallery's outreach efforts, ensuring a vibrant and engaging presence in the art community.
