Job Title: E6 Cafe Manager
Salary Band: £40,000 - £41,500
Accountable to: CEO, Finance Director, Trustees.
Line Manager: CEO
Responsible for: Kitchen and Front of house staff, including full and part time team.
Those engaging in Beyond Food Programmes and work experience
Location: This position will work from the identified Charity Training Kitchen
(E6 Café - E6 5NX). Due to the nature of the role occasional travel to
alternative locations will be required
40hrs p/w - High availability; including some evenings and weekends
28 days annual leave + Bank holidays (36 days)
3 month probation period - 1 month notice period therein
2 month notice period thereafter

Job Purpose:
The Beyond Food E6 Kitchen Manager will take full ownership of our E6 Kitchen site in Beckton.
This isn’t just about service; it’s about running a high-performing commercial community
social enterprise cafe while seamlessly integrating the mission of the Beyond Food Foundation.
You will be the anchor of E6, managing the operations team, hitting sales targets, and ensuring our partnership with West Ham United Foundation is executed with excellence.
Key Relationships:
Internal: CEO, Finance Director, Programmes Manager, Support Manager, Cafe Chef,
Programmes assistant, Front of house team, Events coordinator, Volunteers.
External: West ham United Foundation staff, Charity beneficiaries and trainees. Programme partners.
Key Areas of Responsibility:
Partnership and Relationship Management
● West Ham United Foundation (WHUF): Act as the lead point of contact for our partnership with WHUF. You will coordinate joint events, engage with their corporate sponsors, and ensure all collaborative activities align with our shared goals.
Production
● Lead end-to-end food and beverage production, ensuring efficiency and consistent quality.
● Serve customers, prepare foods for sale, make and serve a range of barista Coffees and
drinks.
Event Management
● Lead the delivery of high-profile events, including premium service in our private dining and meeting rooms.
Stakeholder Hub
● Rotate between corporate clients, Cafe customers, internal teams, and external partners to ensure seamless communication and high-standard hospitality.
● Take ownership of the marketing and promotion of the daily services, events and programmes operating from the E6 Cafe.
Training and Programme Delivery of Diverse Workshop Portfolio - Oversee the operational setup, design, implementation and delivery of specialised training programs, including,
● Food education and youth life skills workshops.
● FreshLife adult programs.
● Community-focused activities like local organisations events, sporting hospitality programs, local customer birthday parties.
● Work experience programmes.
Work Experience Supervision
● Ensure a safe, supportive, and professional learning environment for Beyond Food
Foundation participants during their live E6 Kitchen rotations.
Operational and Financial Control
● Commercial Ownership: You own the P&L. You are responsible for driving sales targets and maintaining healthy gross profit margins.
● Working with our finance director and bookkeeper as well as the team, conduct regular till and stock checks to minimise waste and ensure financial accuracy.
Health, Safety and Technology
● Shield Compliance: Take primary accountability for H&S standards, utilising Shield,
Beyond Food’s Health and Safety technology to monitor compliance, food safety, and
kitchen audits.
Conduct
● Ensure the team operates within professional conduct guidelines and strict legal safety
requirements at all times.
Team Leadership and Management Mindset
● Hands-on Oversight: Provide daily instruction, performance monitoring, and mentorship to the ops team to achieve key results.
● Manage the team rota and Cafe staffing including Breath App for rota and staff timesheets.
● High Availability: This role requires a commitment beyond standard hours. You will be
expected to fulfill communication duties and manage operations during evenings and
weekends.

other responsibilities commensurate with the role that may be required to fulfil the
expectations of the position.
Required Post Holder Skills &; Experience:
● Proven experience as a Kitchen or Cafe Manager with strong commercial P&L experience.
● Experience in event management and high-level client relations (corporate or social
enterprise sector).
● Comfortable using digital H&S management tools (e.g., Shield).
● A lead from the front attitude with a passion for social impact and food education.
