About the role and the team
The Planning Administrative Apprentice role is an excellent opportunity to learn about Planning and local government. With a wide range of responsibilities, the postholder will need to provide high quality customer service to residents and administrative support to colleagues including planning officers, planning enforcement, tree and ecology specialists.
The Planning Support team provides a wide range of services to Planning and includes other services such as Street Naming and Numbering, Land Charges, Geographic Information Systems and the Community Infrastructure Levy.
The Apprentice will be supported through their training and upon completion will have a good understanding of local government and administration. Previous Planning Administrative Apprentices have progressed to careers within local government either at Mole Valley or at other authorities.
The position is full time with one day a week (mimimum of 6 hours) provided for study towards the Business Administration Level 3 qualification.
What we are looking for from you

You will be enthusiastic about undertaking a varied range of administrative tasks within the Planning Support team, supporting planning officers and other colleagues within the authority.
- You will provide a high level of customer service to residents and other officers within the Council
- Be approachable and have good inter-personal skills.
Eligibility requirements
GCSE passes (4-9) in Maths and English or a Level 2 Business Administration Qualification with functional skills in Maths and English.
A keen interest in administrative work (previous experience is not required).
