The Spectator is Britain’s most influential weekly magazine, reaching over two million people each week through our digital platforms. With nearly 200 years of heritage and a rapidly growing YouTube and podcast offering, we’re at the forefront of political commentary and cultural debate.
Our broadcast team is looking for a talented Video Producer, as we look to expand our video output with a slate of polished, reactive video coverage specifically designed for YouTube and social media. You will assist in making high-quality edits – both long-form and short-form – which respond to breaking political and cultural stories. You will work in a fast-paced and exciting newsroom environment, helping to produce video content which complements the unique voice of the world’s oldest magazine.
The successful candidate will have a proven track record in creating high-level edits which are dynamic, polished and stand out on YouTube homepages and social feeds. You will have a keen ear for which stories are driving the day in Westminster and beyond, and an understanding of how to communicate them to a Spectator audience. You will have a high degree of proficiency in video editing – specifically on Premiere Pro – and competency in audio production is also desirable. Most importantly, you will be a highly motivated individual who enjoys working in a vibrant office environment, where no two days are the same.
This is an entry-level role and you will report to The Spectator’s Head of TV and Head of Podcasts, whilst frequently working collaboratively with our social team. We encourage anyone currently studying for a degree in broadcast journalism in particular to apply.
