We are seeking a highly qualified Deployment Physicist, On-premises Installation based in our London or Cambridge locations to install and service Helios systems worldwide for our Hardware-as-a-Service business.
Helios is our current-generation quantum computer with 98 physical qubits and >99.9% two-qubit fidelities that is available through the cloud. Our first on-premises unit will be installed in Singapore with other locations to follow.
The ideal candidate will be based at this Quantinuum site but will travel to other Quantinuum sites for training and customer sites to support Helios installs around the world via extended travel. To develop deep familiarity with the Helios hardware and software, the candidate will support integration, validation, and shipment preparation activities in the US in-person (if based in the US or via travel otherwise) and remotely. They will then be part of the team installing and validating performance of the system at a customer site. As we move through our increasingly ambitious roadmap, they will contribute to future post-Helios on-premises offerings during design, execution, and deployment.

Successful installation of Helios systems on customer premises including preparation for shipment, relocation, installation, and validation
Experience with lasers, laser cooling, atom trapping, cryogenics, ultra-high vacuum systems, analog and digital electronics, laboratory hardware control, Python, physical modelling, and data analysis
Commitment to documenting work via shared note taking as well as the creation and maintenance of standard work documentation, test plans, troubleshooting guides, and configuration documentation
