Support Worker – Bank Staff

Location: East Ham, London

Salary: £14.24/hr
Contract Type: Zero hours

About us:

Hilton Supported Living is a company that provides a supported housing service for up to 6 people whose mental health has deteriorated and who need support with developing independent living skills. Our purpose is to support their recovery and maximise their independence.

Job purpose:

Work may be offered to you on an hourly, daily, weekly or other basis, and you will be expected to help provide an effective, efficient, responsive and client-focused housing management service for our clients who have varying mental health issues and a range of diagnoses. This includes:

health and safety checks,
key working
support planning,
liaison with other agencies,
signposting and enabling clients to achieve recovery-based goals using a collaborative approach.

You will be based at 40 Heigham Road E6 2JG

Hours:

We offer a 24-hour service to our clients. Therefore, hours offered maybe during the day, and/or a sleep-in night shift (for which a lump sum is paid), weekends and/or bank holidays. Work will be offered to you on an ‘ad hoc’, first come first served basis as and when there is a requirement for work to be done. Occasionally we may contact you by telephone to offer you work at short notice. You are free to accept or decline such offers of work. You are not guaranteed continuous work and we are under no obligation to offer you further or particular periods of work. If there is a shortage of work our use of your services will cease without payment. No contract shall exist between the company and yourself in the periods between agreed periods of work.

About you:

To be considered for this role you must have excellent interpersonal skills. In addition, the following key skills and experience are applicable:

Numerate and Literate to GCSE or equivalent standard
Experience working in the mental health sector or other supportive environments (training will be offered)
Computer literate, familiarity with Microsoft packages,
Demonstrable customer service experience
Good, clear, verbal and written communication skills
Awareness of issues faced by people with mental health issues & ability to relate to clients living with mental health challenges.
Able to demonstrate a conscientious and dedicated attitude.
Ability to work on own initiative and a commitment to team working.
Willingness to undertake further training.
Flexible and adaptable
Be prepared to work unsociable hours in accordance with 24/7 shift rota.
Have Enhanced DBS clearance
Experience working in a social housing environment is desirable.
Awareness of current housing issues and tenancy sustainment is desirable.
Knowledge of welfare benefits related to housing is desirable.

Benefits:

A generous holiday allowance of 12.07%; regular supervision, regular team meetings, mandatory training costs will be paid for, other relevant training that will help you with your own personal and career development will be offered and paid for, however, you will be expected to complete them in your own time, and should you leave the service within a year, training costs will need to be repaid.
