Full job description

At SENXpress, we’re building something different.
We’re a community of passionate tutors and educators who believe that every child, regardless of their needs, deserves the right kind of support.

We work with children and young people with Special Educational Needs – Autism, ADHD, Down’s syndrome, speech and language difficulties, social and emotional needs, and more. No child is excluded from help. We do what schools are often afraid to do: focus on the individual, not the system.

As a SENXpress tutor, you’ll work directly with families to deliver 1:1 sessions that last around two hours, depending on the learner’s needs. You’ll have complete freedom to guide your sessions in the way you believe is right for the child, with the full support of our team behind you.

This is a self-employed role, but you’ll never be alone. We’re building an agency of tutors who support each other, share ideas, and believe in genuine collaboration. You’ll have space to be creative, to teach Maths, English, Academics and life skills in ways that make sense to each learner, not just what’s written in a curriculum.

We’re not looking for box-tickers or rule-followers. We’re looking for people with empathy, energy, and initiative – people who see working with SEN children as a calling, not just a job.

Experience with SEN is preferred, but passion matters most. You should feel comfortable working with families and confident navigating the personal side of the job – the conversations, emotions, and trust that come with entering someone’s home. We’re not just tutors. We’re community workers helping families who have been let down by systems that move too slowly.

Once approved, you’ll join our network and be notified when opportunities match your skills, experience, and availability. Interviews will be arranged for shortlisted applicants.

Requirements:

Experience working with children or young people (SEN experience preferred)
Valid Enhanced DBS or willingness to obtain one
Basic safeguarding training (we can direct you to a short online course)
Right to work in the UK
