About Thousand Seasons Studio
Thousand Seasons Studio is a music school and creative studio in Central London.
We approach music as a language: something students learn through listening, playing, experimenting, collaborating and expressing themselves.
Our students include adults, children and young people at different levels, from complete beginners to developing performers and artists. Alongside individual lessons, we organise group classes, recording sessions, workshops, rehearsals, concerts and community events.
We are looking for an experienced singing teacher who wants to become a meaningful and long-term member of our team.
The role
You will initially teach individual singing lessons, with the opportunity to develop a regular schedule of approximately 10+ students per week.
The role may eventually include:
- Individual singing lessons for adults, children and young people
- Beginner, intermediate and advanced vocal coaching
- Group singing classes and creative workshops
- Preparing students for studio recording sessions
- Preparing students to perform with a live band
- Supporting rehearsals, concerts and community events
- Helping students develop musicianship, confidence and artistic identity
- Contributing ideas to our curriculum and teaching approach
- Participating in teacher meetings, training and constructive feedback
- Appearing in agreed promotional, educational and social-media content
We are not only looking for someone who wants occasional teaching as a temporary source of income alongside an artistic career. It is completely welcome for you to be an active artist, but teaching should be a genuine professional passion and an important part of your long-term work.
Who we are looking for
You should have:
- At least five years of substantial singing-teaching experience
- Formal music or vocal training, or equivalent professional experience
- Expertise in pop, soul, R&B, jazz, improvisation or musical theatre
- A strong understanding of healthy vocal technique
- Enough piano ability to accompany students confidently
- A practical understanding of harmony, rhythm, keys and song structure
- Experience teaching complete beginners
- Experience performing onstage with live musicians
- A warm, encouraging and non-judgmental teaching style
- A creative and adaptable approach to lessons
- Strong reliability, preparation and communication
- Openness to feedback, experimentation and continued development
- Interest in teaching both individual and group lessons
- Confidence performing, speaking and appearing on camera
- The right to work in the UK
- An appropriate DBS certificate, or willingness to complete the required process
Most importantly, you should genuinely enjoy helping inexperienced students feel safe, confident and musically expressive.
Additional strengths
It would be a significant advantage to have experience in one or more of the following:
- Teaching groups, choirs or workshops
- Leading bands or rehearsals
- Recording vocals professionally
- Songwriting, composition or music production
- Releasing or performing original music
- Vocal improvisation or harmonisation
- Preparing students for recording sessions and concerts
A large social-media following is not required, but applicants should be able to share recent examples of their singing, performance and musicianship.
Long-term involvement
We are looking for someone who wants to become part of the studio community, participate in events and develop a stable weekly teaching schedule.
We intend to invest time, support and promotion into the teacher who joins us. We are therefore particularly interested in someone who plans to remain based in London and wants to grow with our team over the next several years.
