We are looking for a reliable, organised, and proactive Maintenance Operative & Administrative Assistant to support our Supported Living services. This is a varied role combining practical property maintenance with essential administrative and compliance responsibilities, helping us provide safe, high-quality homes for the people we support.

About the Role
Working across our supported living homes, you will ensure our properties remain safe, well-maintained, compliant, and inspection-ready. Alongside carrying out general maintenance and repairs, you will support managers with key administrative tasks, including medication stock audits, fire safety checks, health and safety compliance, and ordering essential supplies.

Key ResponsibilitiesMaintenance
- Carry out general property repairs and maintenance.
- Complete basic plumbing, carpentry, decorating, painting, and minor repairs.
- Conduct routine property inspections and identify maintenance issues.
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests.
- Liaise with external contractors and oversee completed work.
- Ensure all homes are safe, clean, and maintained to a high standard.
Administration & Compliance
- Complete and record medication stock counts in line with company procedures.
- Carry out routine fire safety checks and maintain accurate records.
- Complete scheduled health and safety inspections across supported living homes.
- Maintain maintenance logs, compliance records, and audit documentation.
- Order PPE, cleaning materials, maintenance supplies, and other operational stock.
- Book servicing, repairs, and statutory inspections with contractors.
- Support managers with filing, data entry, document management, and general administration.
- Ensure all documentation is accurate, up to date, and ready for internal audits and CQC inspections.
What We're Looking ForEssential
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a handyman, maintenance, facilities, or property maintenance role.
- Experience working within supported living, healthcare, social care, housing, or another regulated environment.
- Strong practical skills in general maintenance, decorating, carpentry, plumbing, and property repairs.
- Experience completing administrative and compliance tasks accurately.
- Good knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
- Competent using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook).
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to work independently and use your own initiative.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Full, clean UK driving licence (essential).
- Access to a reliable vehicle and willingness to travel between multiple supported living homes.
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Knowledge of CQC Fundamental Standards.
- Experience carrying out medication stock audits.
- Fire Safety or Fire Marshal training.
- IOSH Working Safely or equivalent Health & Safety qualification.
- PAT Testing qualification.
- First Aid at Work qualification.
