Freelance Mechanical Estimator - Remote Day Rate - MEP / Building Services Tenders

We are seeking an experienced freelance Mechanical Estimator to provide reliable remote support on a day-rate basis for mechanical building services tenders, estimates, and bid preparation.

This is a flexible contract opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

Handle the complete tender lifecycle for mechanical packages (HVAC, plumbing, MEP systems): scope and specification analysis, subcontractor quote validation and pricing, value engineering identification, risk evaluation, and creation of strong technical/commercial submissions.
Deliver precise estimates and tenders from £500k to £10m+ project values.
Support projects in various sectors: commercial builds, healthcare facilities, education, data centres, logistics/distribution centres, airports, and infrastructure.
Liaise remotely with stakeholders, main contractors, and subcontractors to ensure timely, high-quality bid delivery.

Requirements:

Solid experience as a Mechanical Estimator (5+ years preferred) with proven success in mechanical/MEP tendering and estimating.
Strong working knowledge of estimating tools: CostX, Trimble Estimating, Bluebeam Revu, SimPro, AutoCAD, and related software.
Excellent attention to detail, commercial judgement, and communication skills for effective remote collaboration.

Contract Details:

Fully remote / work from home – UK-based - ideally London / South East.
Day rate
Flexible engagement: short-term (weeks/months), long-term freelance, ad-hoc tender cover, or peak-period support.
Immediate availability preferred.
