As a reporter on the Mobile team, you will write and break news to large digital audiences – working on some of the biggest stories of the UK’s and world’s agenda. Your keen eye for a top line, flair for writing and high standards of journalism will be crucial to helping engage and grow our digital audiences.

Sky News stay at the front of the UK and world news – and you will be at the heart of this operation.

Whether it’s stories about the Royal Family, the war in Ukraine, the political events of the day, high-profile court cases, or live events such as the coronation, you will spot top lines and write about them with accuracy and speed.

This is a shift-based role including earlies, lates, weekends and some overnights

What you’ll do:

Be at the forefront of news to significant audiences on our website and app
Research, write and produce stories and original journalism
Uphold Sky News’ standards of accuracy
Work both independently and as part of a team
You may be asked to work with the live blogging team on occasion
Handle the production of correspondents’ copy

What you’ll bring:

A first-class judgement to identify the top lines of any story
A track record of finding, writing and producing stories to a high standard for recognised news organisations – whether national or local
Experience in handling breaking news scenarios
NCTJ training (or equivalent)
Knowledge in media law
Ability to produce clean, engaging copy at pace and under pressure
The flexibility to adjust your work patterns when events require

This role is on-site.

Your office base
