The on target earning potential for this role is £39,500 per annum - comprising a base salary of £38,000, plus a qualified estimate of £1,500 in gratuities and service charge

As a Payroll Banking Assistant you will:
- Support the end-to-end payroll lifecycle, from data collection through to final payroll processing and reconciliation
- Collating, validating and inputting payroll data including starters, leavers, contractual changes, overtime, bonuses and deductions, and assisting with year-end payroll processes, including P60s and statutory reporting
- Ensuring payroll data is accurate, complete and submitted in line with payroll deadlines, and supporting monthly payroll reconciliations and variance analysis
- Administration and overview of company pension and benefits
- Assisting with payroll calculations and validation checks prior to submission
- Investigating and resolving payroll discrepancies in a timely and professional manner
- Expertly using Excel to analyse payroll data, identify trends and highlight anomalies, producing regular, accurate payroll reports and ad-hoc analysis for our stakeholders
- Supporting the development of improved payroll reporting and dashboards, proactively assisting in identifying opportunities to improve our data accuracy and payroll efficiency
- Investigating root causes of payroll issues and implementing sustainable solutions and proactively identifying process inefficiencies, risks and areas for improvement
- Working collaboratively with our People, Finance and operational teams to improve our data quality and process alignment
- Assisting with audits and compliance reviews as required, playing a key role in supporting our compliance with payroll legislation and internal controls
- Actively staying up to date with payroll best practices and regulatory changes through continuous learning, industry updates, and applying this knowledge to ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing
- Delivering friendly, approachable support to our people and managers on payroll queries, while building trusted relationships across the business
- Overseeing the accurate recording of customer receipts and supplier payments in the finance system
- Ensuring timely and accurate bank reconciliations
- Managing and updating customer and supplier master data, including bank details
- Validating supplier bank details within the finance system and Adaco as required
- Overseeing bank account administration, including mandates, signatories and account changes
- Monitoring transactions and reports for irregularities
- Supporting automation and process improvements across cash and banking workflows
- Collaborating with AP and AR
- Supporting member invoice queries and debtor record accuracy where required

- You’re an avid and quick learner. Whilst we’d prefer you to bring some previous payroll administration experience to the table, you bring the right attitude, interest and capacity to learn
