About Bromley Vocal School:
Bromley Vocal School, a well-established singing school in the heart of Bromley, is looking for a passionate and experienced Singing Teacher to join our team of associate vocal instructors.
Our teaching studio is conveniently located in central Bromley, within easy reach of Bromley South and Bromley North stations (direct train from London Victoria in approx. 15 minutes).
At Bromley Vocal School, we work with a wide range of students of different ages, levels, and musical goals. Our students include children, teenagers, and adults, ranging from complete beginners to semi-professional and professional performers.
Many students attend lessons for enjoyment and confidence-building, while others are preparing for auditions, graded examinations, choir work, performances, entry into music academies, or university performing arts programmes. This makes the role both varied and rewarding, requiring a teacher who is adaptable, encouraging, and confident working across different experience levels and aspirations.
Position Overview:
We are seeking a self-employed Associate Vocal Teacher to provide private one-to-one singing lessons to students of all ages and ability levels — from beginners to professionals. This is an in-person role based at our Bromley studio.
The position will be for Fridays and another day of the week (ideally Monday)

Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and tailored singing lessons using effective, evidence-based vocal methods.
- Assess students’ voices and identify areas for development.
- Apply solid knowledge of vocal pedagogy and technique to enhance each student’s vocal performance.
- Employ established teaching methods (such as BELCANTO, SLS, IVA, MVT, CVT, ESTILL, BAST, VOCAL BALANCE, or similar)
- Foster a supportive and inspiring learning environment.
- Stay up to date with vocal research and contemporary teaching practices.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Strong understanding of vocal pedagogy and vocal function.
- Proven ability to assess and address vocal challenges.
- Familiarity with vocal technique methods (BELCANTO, SLS, IVA, MVT, CVT, ESTILL, BAST, VOCAL BALANCE or similar).
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Previous teaching experience required.
- Comfortable teaching both children and adults.
- Ability to play piano to a sufficient level to accompany vocal warm-ups, scales, and vocal exercises.
- Experience preparing students for graded exams (ABRSM, Trinity, etc.) is a plus.
- Ability to deliver workshops or group classes (for kids or adults) is an advantage.
Contract Type:
