The Health Economics Unit is seeking a Health Economist Manager / Principal Health Economist to lead a portfolio of high-profile health economics, outcomes research and evaluation projects that shape decision-making across the NHS, academia and industry.
This is an exciting opportunity to work at the forefront of healthcare innovation, leading complex economic evaluations, real-world evidence studies, advanced modelling projects and service transformation programmes. You will provide technical leadership across a diverse portfolio of work, while remaining actively involved in some of the Unit's most strategically important and high-value projects.
As a senior member of the team, you will play a key role in developing and supporting colleagues, overseeing quality and methodological excellence, building strong client relationships and contributing to the continued growth and success of the Health Economics Unit. You will work with senior leaders, clinicians, commissioners, academics and industry partners to generate evidence that improves outcomes, reduces inequalities and supports better use of healthcare resources.

You will lead a portfolio of complex health economics, outcomes research and evaluation projects that support healthcare decision-making, innovation and service improvement across the NHS, academia and industry.
As a senior member of the Health Economics Unit, you will combine technical expertise, project leadership and people management to deliver high-quality, impactful work that informs policy, commissioning and service transformation decisions.
You will provide expert leadership in health economics, economic modelling and outcomes research, while remaining actively involved in some of the Unit’s most complex and strategically important projects.
Working closely with clients, clinicians, commissioners, academics and industry partners, you will help define analytical approaches, oversee project delivery and communicate complex evidence to a wide range of audiences.
The role includes line management and development of a designated group of staff, providing leadership, mentoring, technical guidance and quality assurance to support high performance and professional growth.
You will oversee multiple projects and programmes simultaneously, ensuring delivery to agreed quality, budget and timescale requirements while maintaining excellent client relationships.
