The Department of Learning and Leadership (DLL) is a large specialist research and teaching department of approximately 110 academic staff. The department is a major world leader in the following subject areas: Early Years and Primary Education, Educational Leadership, Education Policy, and Initial Teacher Education (ITE). Programme Leaders in the Centre for Educational Leadership are creative, motivated and solution focused leaders of both programmes and people with successful, credible experience in the leadership of learning, equity and diversity.
The successful candidate will work collaboratively with existing Programme Leaders and Professional Services teams to ensure the success of UCL’s Early Career Teacher Development Programme. This programme is delivered to circa 17,000 Early Career Teachers and Mentors annually, and the purpose of this role is to ensure that, as the ITTECF programme develops, there is a continued focus on high-quality delivery at scale.
The Associate Programme Leader will have responsibility for specific areas across the Early Teacher Development programme, aligned with their school-based experience and this may also involve having oversight of programme management systems and processes. This could include elements of programme design, programme delivery, quality assurance and/or supporting a group of regional Delivery Partners.
As this is a development opportunity, the successful candidate will also be afforded the opportunity to work flexibly across CEL’s portfolio of leadership and consultancy programmes as needed, to support and promote a coherent offer to educational leaders. This seconded role may include working with groups of regional partners and involve some national and international travel.

The successful applicant would remain an employee of their current organisation retaining their terms and conditions of employment, but we will work with your current employer to reimburse appropriate costs.

You will be a successful career as a school leader with demonstrable knowledge of current teacher and leadership development models and leadership policy and practices.
You will have an excellent understanding of current education policy in London and national contexts and substantial experience of developing collaborative working relationships with external partners and stakeholders including Teaching School Hubs and groups of Schools.
