Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Steel Erector Supervisor to oversee and coordinate steel erection activities on construction sites. The ideal candidate will possess strong management skills, supervising experience, and familiarity with project planning tools such as Primavera P6. This role involves leading a team of erectors, ensuring safety standards are maintained, and projects are completed efficiently and to high quality standards. Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate daily steel erection operations, ensuring adherence to project specifications and safety regulations.
- Lead and manage a team of steel erectors, providing guidance, training, and performance feedback.
- Plan work schedules and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Utilise Primavera P6 for project scheduling, tracking progress, and reporting on project timelines.
- Monitor site safety protocols, conduct risk assessments, and ensure compliance with health and safety legislation.
- Liaise with project managers, engineers, and subcontractors to facilitate smooth communication and workflow.
- Oversee the inspection of steel structures during erection for quality assurance purposes.
- Maintain accurate documentation related to site activities, safety records, and progress reports.
Skills
- Proven management experience within the steel erection or construction industry.
- Supervising experience with a track record of leading teams effectively on large-scale projects.
- Proficiency in Primavera P6 or similar project management software for scheduling and planning.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks efficiently under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate between various stakeholders on-site.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to steel erection activities.
