As a Lifeguard at Thames City, 1974 Club, you will support the safe and smooth daily operation of a luxury residential health club in London, helping to deliver an exceptional leisure and wellness experience for residents and guests.
You will be responsible for maintaining a safe, welcoming, and well-presented pool and wellness environment, ensuring high standards of supervision, resident service, cleanliness, and health and safety are upheld at all times. Reporting to the Club Manager and supporting the wider club team, you will carry out poolside supervision, respond to incidents, complete safety checks, support resident enquiries, and help create a calm and professional environment where residents feel valued, safe, and well looked after. This role operates on a shift rota, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Operations:
· Provide vigilant poolside supervision and ensure all residents and guests use the pool, spa, and wellness areas safely and respectfully.
· Support opening and closing procedures, facility walk-throughs, and daily checks to ensure the club is safe, clean, and ready for use.
· Maintain high standards of presentation across the poolside, changing areas, gym, and associated wellness spaces.
· Support the wider club team with day-to-day operational tasks, including maintaining towels, amenities, equipment, and resident-facing areas.
Customer Experience & Community Building:
· Welcome residents and guests in a warm, professional, and attentive manner, helping to create a calm and premium club experience.
· Handle resident enquiries and concerns efficiently and professionally, escalating matters to the Club Manager where required.
· Gather resident feedback and share observations with the club team to continuously enhance the Health Club experience.
Health & Safety:
· Conduct and document poolside safety checks, opening/closing checks, pool/spa water tests, and facility inspections per schedule. (full training will be given)
· Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety requirements, including NPLQ standards and site-specific operating procedures.
· Act as Lifeguard and Emergency Responder/First Aider when required, responding swiftly and calmly to incidents.
· Report accidents, near-misses, hazards, and defects to the Club Manager as well as the Estate Management Team and follow through on corrective actions.

Skills and Experience
Must Have
· Valid NPLQ qualification or equivalent recognised lifeguarding qualification.
· Previous experience in a lifeguard, leisure, hospitality, residential, or premium customer service environment.
Desirable:
· Experience working within luxury residential, leisure, hospitality, or wellness environments.
· Strong customer service, communication, and observational skills with the ability to remain calm and professional in a safety-critical environment.
· Awareness of health and safety procedures within a leisure, spa, pool, or residential environment.
· Pool plant-related qualifications would be advantageous.
· Level 2 Fitness Instructor qualification would be advantageous, particularly where supporting resident inductions or wellness activities.
· A proactive, hands-on approach with the flexibility to support a varied shift pattern, including evenings, weekends, and bank holidays.

Pay: £14.80 per hour
