CONTRACT DETAILS

Department: Legal Team / Financing & Transactions
Reporting To: Senior Legal Counsel
Location: London
Contract Type: 2 years fixed term
Start Date: Asap

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

The trainee will have exposure to the following areas:

Corporate / Transactions, including JVs;
Transactional Shipping / Ship Finance;
Capital Markets;
Commercial Contracts; and
Litigation (usually through a secondment to a law firm).

EXPERIENCE

Paralegal experience preferred.
Background in the shipping industry preferred.

COMPETENCIES

Ambitious and willing to learn.
Versatile.
Positive attitude.
Ability to solve problems and find solutions.
A good team player.
Good attention to detail.
Able to demonstrate:
- - effective communication skills,
  - intellectual curiosity,
  - able to work autonomously,
  - interest in the shipping industry,
  - ability to make judgements.

QUALIFICATIONS

Completed the Legal Practice Course or be eligible to complete the SQE.
Passed LLB or higher undergraduate degree (English or other common law jurisdiction) with at least a 2.1 grade.
Graduated from one of the top 20 UK Universities.
