Job Overview
The Pizza Joint is looking for a motivated Front of House & Kitchen Team Member to join us as a Trainee Supervisor at our East Dulwich location. You'll work across both the counter and the kitchen — serving customers, making great food, and keeping standards high — while building towards a supervisor role. It's ideal for someone with hospitality or fast-food experience who wants a clear path to progress, and a pay rise to match.
Pay: Starting at National Living Wage (£12.71/hr for 21+, £10.85/hr for 18–20), rising to a supervisor rate once fully trained.
Hours: Full-time, 5 days a week. Friday and Saturday availability required.
Job type: Permanent
Duties
- Deliver excellent customer service — greeting customers, taking orders on the counter and phone, and serving with a friendly, professional manner.
- Prepare and cook pizzas, sides, and other menu items to our recipe and presentation standards.
- Quality-check every order before it leaves — right item, right quality, every time.
- Handle customer questions and complaints calmly, turning unhappy customers into repeat ones.
- Support smooth kitchen operations, including food production, safety, and cleanliness.
- Keep your station stocked and help with stock control to minimise waste.
- Uphold all food safety and hygiene standards.
- As you progress into the supervisor role: help run shifts, guide and mentor newer team members, and support training and scheduling.
Requirements
- Previous experience in a customer-facing role (hospitality, retail, or fast food).
- Confident handling customers and resolving complaints under pressure.
- Comfortable in a fast-paced kitchen, or keen to learn quickly.
- Reliable, with strong attention to detail and pride in the food that goes out.
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional manner.
- Available full-time, including Friday and Saturday.
- Knowledge of food safety standards a plus (we can support you in getting certified).
- A proactive attitude and genuine interest in growing into a supervisory role.
- Right to work in the UK.

- Clear progression from team member to supervisor, with a pay increase.
