Job Overview

Are you an experienced pensions professional looking for an opportunity to support a major DB buy-in project?
We are looking for a Pensions Delivery Specialist to join our in-house Pensions Team on a fixed-term basis to support the delivery of a major project to transition a Group defined benefit (DB) pension scheme to buy-in.
This role will play a key part in delivering the project. Working alongside internal stakeholders and external advisers, you will be responsible for coordinating and progressing allocated activities, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and within agreed timescales.

This is a rare opportunity to gain exposure to a broad range of pensions matters while working alongside trustees, insurers and professional advisers on a strategically important project. The role offers exposure to DB, DC and public sector pension arrangements and an opportunity to develop your understanding of pension scheme governance and operations.
In addition to project work, you will support the wider Pensions Team with business-as-usual activities and ad hoc initiatives as required.

Main Duties
Working as part of a small specialist team, you will support the delivery of the DB buy-in project and other pensions activities. You will take ownership of assigned tasks, coordinating with advisers, administrators and stakeholders to ensure actions are progressed through to completion.

Key responsibilities include:
Delivering allocated project activities and monitoring progress against agreed timelines.
Coordinating inputs from internal stakeholders, the trustee and external advisers, including administrators, actuaries, insurers and legal advisers.
Gathering, reviewing and maintaining data and documentation to support project deliverables.
Preparing and issuing communications to members and stakeholders.
Maintaining accurate records and identifying risks, issues or delays requiring escalation.
Supporting the administration and governance of the Group's pension and life assurance arrangements, including assisting with death-in-service claims and member queries where required.
What We Are Looking For

Do you have recent pensions experience, strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities while working with a range of internal and external stakeholders?
Do you enjoy taking ownership of tasks and seeing them through to completion? Can you build effective working relationships while delivering high-quality work to challenging deadlines?
We are seeking someone who is proactive, highly organised and able to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders. You will be comfortable managing multiple priorities in a project-based environment and taking ownership of tasks through to completion.

The successful candidate will possess:
At least three years' recent experience working in a pensions-related role, either in-house or within a pensions consultancy or pension administration environment.
An up-to-date understanding of UK pensions legislation, governance and regulatory requirements.
A good understanding of DB and DC pension arrangements.
Experience supporting a DB buy-in, buy-out or other pension scheme de-risking project would be highly desirable.
Experience supporting pensions projects or scheme exercises, such as data reviews, communications projects, benefit rectification exercises or governance activities.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong attention to detail, with good analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word and other Microsoft Office applications.
