Vaughandale Construction is a well-established East Midlands building contractor with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality construction, refurbishment and general building projects across the region. We are looking for an ambitious, recently qualified or developing Quantity Surveyor to join our commercial team and support the successful delivery of projects from pre-contract through to final account.

Key Responsibilities
- Support the commercial management of allocated projects under the guidance of senior commercial staff.
- Assist with project budgets, cost/value reconciliations, cash flow forecasts and cost reporting.
- Prepare interim valuations and applications for payment.
- Assist with subcontractor quotation comparisons, procurement, payment applications and variations.
- Support the preparation of monthly commercial reports, including CVRs and forecasts.
- Assist with contract administration duties and develop working knowledge of JCT forms of contract.
- Identify potential commercial or contractual risks and escalate them to senior commercial staff.
- Work closely with site teams, subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and clients to support successful project delivery.
About You
You will be a recently qualified or developing Quantity Surveyor with relevant construction industry experience and a sound understanding of construction costs, valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts. You will be organised, accurate and confident working with numbers, with strong analytical skills, excellent attention to detail and the ability to maintain clear, well-structured commercial records. Clear communication, a positive team approach and a genuine willingness to continue learning and developing will be important to success in this role.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Recently qualified or developing Quantity Surveyor with relevant construction industry experience.
- Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.
- Sound understanding of construction costs, valuations, variations and subcontractor accounts.
- Strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills, with excellent attention to detail.
- Confident user of Microsoft Excel, with the ability to maintain accurate and well-structured commercial records.
- Clear communication skills, a positive team approach and a genuine willingness to continue learning and developing.
Desirable Skills & Experience
- Experience working with JCT forms of contract.
- Experience across refurbishment and general building projects.
- Previous experience within an SME construction environment.
- Experience assisting with CVRs, forecasts, payment applications or final account preparation.

Pay: £30,000.00-£45,000.00 per year
