About the Role
We are looking for qualified, compassionate Children’s & Young People’s Counsellors to join our casual bank staff team.
We are looking for dedicated sessional therapists who can step in as cover to ensure children and young people receive timely mental health support without facing extended waiting lists. This position is ideal for experienced practitioners looking for flexible, well-remunerated work that fits seamlessly alongside private practice, NHS, or other employment roles.
You will provide face-to-face, 1-to-1 therapeutic sessions for children and young people across community locations in Waltham Forest and Redbridge.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, face-to-face 1:1 counselling sessions tailored to children and young people.
- Provide early intervention and therapeutic support for a range of emotional, mental health, and behavioral challenges.
- Maintain clear, concise, and timely clinical notes in accordance with organizational and professional standards.
- Strictly adhere to safeguarding and child protection procedures, escalating any concerns immediately through designated channels.
- Manage time effectively to deliver scheduled sessions reliably within allocated venues across Waltham Forest and Redbridge.
Essential Requirements
- Qualification: Fully qualified counsellor/therapist (minimum Level 4 Diploma in Counselling/Psychotherapy or equivalent).
- Specialism: Formal training and/or demonstrable clinical experience working therapeutic 1:1 with children and young people.
- Professional Membership: Registered/accredited member of a recognized professional body (e.g., BACP, UKCP, NCPS, or equivalent) adhering to their ethical framework.
- Safeguarding & DBS: Current Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or willingness to undergo an immediate check).
- Location & Mobility: Ability to travel and deliver sessions in-person at designated venues across Waltham Forest and/or Redbridge.
- Insurance: Valid Professional Indemnity Insurance.
